WHY ALL FOODS REALLY CAN FIT

Hi friends!

So I know you’ve heard the saying, “
The most important relationship in your life is the relationship you have with yourself.” (Words of wisdom from the fabulous and fashionable Diane Von Furstenberg of course. :))

At The Meal Planning Method we definitely feel like food in many ways is the second most important relationship in your life!  (OK, ok, so maybe your relationship status is "It's Complicated.")  But what else in life do you constantly need and have control over?  What else can evoke strong emotions in us and have an immediate to long-term effect on our body and health?  Food is essential for everyone.  But we recognize it’s not always the easiest to manage no matter your age.

February 26th marked the beginning of National Eating Disorders Awareness Week.  So we wanted to take this opportunity to share more about why we at The Meal Planning Method are so very passionate about eating without restrictions or rules.  (Sounds pretty nice huh?)  Here’s what we mean…

Seriously.  We will
never hand you a list of “Good vs. Bad” foods that you must choose from.

We don’t believe in extreme eating (like unlimited “negative-calorie foods”) or restrictive dieting (like no grains for 30 days).

You
can enjoy all foods in your healthy lifestyle.

And it starts with giving yourself permission to do so.

Allow yourself to eat those french fries you’ve been craving and enjoy them!

Food can only make you feel guilt, shame, and regret only if you give it that power.

Forget the free stuff -- we’re talking about sugar-free, dairy-free, gluten-free, food-free crap.

Food should provide you with essential vitamins, minerals and nutrients that allows you to be your most
amazing-self!

Knowing the facts of food helps you understand that food is neither good nor bad.  It just is :)

Let’s take a baked potato for example… a food often seen as “bad” because it contains carbohydrates.

Here’s a healthier way to think about white potatoes… 1 medium baked potato provides 170 units of energy, 16% of my day’s worth of fiber, and contains potassium!

Face the facts, not your feelings about food.

How does anything get better if things don’t change?

We know that life happens, sometimes at supersonic speed.

But it’s about getting out of your own damn way to allow healthy habits to happen in a way that works for YOU!

Healthy living isn’t an obligation, but an opportunity to feel your best - mentally, physically and spiritually.

🙏🏼

It’s not about what you should be doing, but about discovering a way of healthier eating that works for YOU (not against you) and doing it for YOU.

You must want to eat & live healthier for you, no one else.

If you feel like you constantly struggle to find that right balance of healthy and “not,” we invite you to follow us along here on our blog, our weekly newsletter, Instagram and Pinterest as we strive to help you decrease the food frustration in your life!
