Ya know, there's something about warmer weather that just makes me crave smoothies. I don't like them any other time of year!
My go-to smoothie concoction usually features some mix of tropical fruits like pineapple, strawberries and mangoes, but I've been dying to try Juice Bar's Matcha Green smoothie because I'm seriously mad about matcha!
What is matcha?
Matcha is a powder made of ground green tea leaves. It has an earthy taste (that I love!) and is often enjoyed as a hot beverage. Matcha is thought to have some preventative powers against heart disease and cancer, but more research is needed.
After my PiYo class the other day I was in need of some post-workout fuel and remembered I had several smoothie ingredients at home. And let's just say, my smoothie experimenting was a success! Let me introduce to you... my MANGO + MATCHA SMOOTHIE!
MANGO + MATCHA SMOOTHIE RECIPE
NOTE: You might add more or less milk depending on how thick you like your smoothies.
Ugh, guys. This smoothie is so creamy and good. It's not too sweet and has just the right amount of matcha flavor. (Plus, it's high in vitamin A thanks to the mangos and contains protein from the greek yogurt and soymilk.)
I hope you guys enjoy this Mango + Matcha Smoothie as much as I do! (I may or may not have already had 2 more times since making it haha.) Tell me what you think of it in the comments below :)
