TWO EASY WAYS TO ENJOY NAKED NUTRITION PROTEIN POWDERS

​Protein powder can be a great pantry-staple along with your canned goods, dried grains, and the like.  Why are protein powders a good option to stock up on?  For the same reason you make many other food choices in your life –
convenience!

Now, selecting an ideal protein powder can cause your head to spin if you’re unsure of what to look out for, but Naked Nutrition products make it super easy.  They’re products are made with minimal ingredients (most contain 3 ingredients or less!) so YOU are more in control of what you want when using a Naked Nutrition supplement.  For example, their vegan Pea Protein Powder has just ONE ingredient – yellow pea protein.  That’s it!  No added sugar or artificial sweeteners.  Just simple, straightforward ingredients that you can use to make a more well-balanced meal or snack.  (Remember, protein is not only an essential nutrient, it’s also a nutrient that can help us feel full and satisfied throughout our day.)

Matcha Green Power Balls

Recipe by Ashley Sobel**

Servings: ~18 balls 

Ingredients:
  • ½ cup rolled oats
  • 4 tbsp chia seeds
  • ¼ cup Pea Protein Powder 
  • 2 tsp matcha powder
  • ½ cup almond butter
  • 2 Tbsp honey 
  • Water, as needed 

Directions:
  1. Blend the oats, chia seeds, Pea Protein Powder, matcha powder, almond butter butter, and honey together until smooth.  (If your “dough” isn’t forming, add a tablespoon of water at a time until it reaches your desired consistency.) 
  2. Roll ~1 tablespoon of the mixture into a small ball.  (I used a tablespoon cookie scoop in this step!)  Repeat. 
  3. Refrigerate for 10-15 minutes. Enjoy!​

These vegetarian Matcha Green Power Balls are easy enough to make ahead of time to have during your busy week as a pre-workout snack or for when you want something slightly sweet.

Vanilla Latte Smoothie

Recipe by Ashley Sobel**

Servings: 1

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup of any non-dairy milk alternative
  • 1 shot of espresso
  • 1 frozen banana 
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon 
  • 2 scoops Vanilla Protein Shake

Directions:
  1. Blend all the ingredients together until smooth. Enjoy!

This vegan Vanilla Latte Smoothie comes together quick (especially if you already have all your ingredients measured out) and could even be enjoyed as an on-the-go breakfast!

WHERE TO EAT IN SYLVA, NORTH CAROLINA

I took a 48 hour girl’s trip 🚗 to SYLVA, NORTH CAROLINA (~4.5 hour drive from Nashville, Tennessee) in the early fall and here’s a quick recap of where we ate:

🍕 Pie Times Pizza Company (414 West Main Street, Sylva NC 28779) — Grab a delicious wood-fired pizza while you also sip on something from Innovation Brewing next door! I thoroughly enjoyed my “Spicy Italian” pie made with house-made Italian sausage, pickled peppers, Porter caramelized onions and mozzarella.

☕️ White Moon (545 Mill Street, Sylva NC 28779) — This cozy coffee shop was so good we had to visit twice during our 2-day road trip! Their menu changes frequently, but I would 100% re-order the “Morning Sammy” or “Garden Bagel” I selected. Pst — across the street you’ll find the. “Greeting from Sylva” mural to commemorate your visit!

🍝 ILDA (470 West Main, Sylva NC 28779) — Treat yo’ self to the upscale and intimate dining experience at ILDA. Their menu is also very seasonal and our 5-person group split two Fried Burrata appetizers and I inhaled my Rigatoni With Nasturtium :P

Other travel insights about Sylva, NC from my quick trip:
  • August was an awesome time to of year to visit Sylva, NC! The weather was cool enough to wear jeans during the day, but also warm enough to wear sleeveless tops.
  • Love antiques? Those who enjoy the thrill of the hunt will find themselves in a treasure trove all around Sylva, NC.

The holidays are here friends! It really is wild to think about how quickly 2020 has flown by, but not without some "bumps" along the way. Everyone -- every single body and business -- is shifting to make things work despite what's going on in our world. #1: Eat To Sleep: What to Eat & When to Eat It for a Good Night’s Sleep ($18.00)

You know that friend (or family member) that's all about their self-care? This book from Karman Meyer, RD, LDN is an awesome add to their routine. Sleep is so very very essential -- according to the CDC, 1/3 of American adults are walking around without enough sleep each day -- so sleep really is the perfect thing to perfect in 2021 :)

#2: Tiramisu Paperie Being Productive AF Mousepad Notepad ($12.00)

Who doesn't need a little more organization in their life? This tear-away notepad can be for anyone in your immediate family or even your work family! I personally really like using them for meal planning :)
