Today is a holiday for lovers. But, tbh, the most important relationship you will ever have, is with yourself :) So no matter if you’re flying solo or have a S.O., #treatyoself to one of these things to show yourself love & kindness today. (WARNING: Food is involved.) (Always.)
Let’s be honest. If you open your fridge or pantry and see nothing but chaos, you’re going to feel stressed out about the mess and will likely say to yourself “I have nothing to eat.” Do your house and self a solid by cleaning out the out to make room for the new!
#2) Donate food to your local food pantry.
While you’re cleaning out your kitchen, you may come across some items you could do without. Instead of tossing them, consider dropping them off at your local food bank. Most needed items tend to be: peanut butter, canned meats, canned vegetables and fruit, pasta and cereal.
#3) Cook a meal for yourself and your family.
Cooking can be an enjoyable experience when you make a simple mindset shift. Instead of looking at cooking as “a chore I must check off my to-do list,” try approaching it as “I am nourishing my body to be it’s best.” Also, make things fun my turning up the tunes and involving friends or family members to help with prep. #4) Visit your closest Farmers Market and buy some locally grown products.

#5) Listen to your body.
Fuel it when it’s hungry, and stop eating when it’s full. Sometimes we lose sight of how we actually feel when we’re distracted by the clock or even the amount left on our plate or in a package. Honor your body’s needs by tuning into your hunger and fullness.
#6) Savor the flavor of your food.
15 minute lunch breaks during elementary school did not do us good. Try to give yourself a full 20 minutes to complete your meal, so that you can more fully enjoy the flavors of your food.
#7) Gift a friend, family member or co-worker one of these punny Valentines.
Since it is Valentine’s Day, don’t forget to show those you love, just how much :)
